Privacy notice

Last reviewed 19 August 2026

The short version: we collect an email address if you hand us one, and almost nothing else. There is no advertising network on this site and no cross-site tracking.

What we collect

  • Newsletter signups. Your email address, the date, and which form you used. Nothing more.
  • Tool submissions. The details you type, plus your email address if you choose to give one.
  • A hashed IP address on submissions only. We store a one-way SHA-256 hash, never the address itself, purely to stop the same source flooding the form. It cannot be reversed into an IP.
  • Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes.

What we do not collect

No advertising cookies, no third-party ad pixels, and no attempt to identify you across other sites. If privacy-respecting analytics are enabled they measure page views in aggregate; they do not build a profile of you. Affiliate networks may set their own cookie when you click through to a vendor — that happens on the vendor's side, under their policy, and only if you click. See the affiliate disclosure.

How it is used

Email addresses are used to send the newsletter and to answer a question about your own submission. That is the entire list. We do not sell, rent or share subscriber lists.

How long it is kept, and how to remove it

Subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Submissions are kept as an editorial record. To be unsubscribed or to have a submission and its email address deleted, use the contact form and say so — we will action it and confirm.

Where data lives

The site runs on managed hosting with a managed Postgres database, both operated by third-party providers who process data on our behalf. Data may be stored outside your country. If you would like the current provider list, ask.

This notice describes what the site actually does. It is not legal advice, and if you need a formal data-processing agreement, get in touch.
